On occasions, I have had interesting conversations with business owners about why their employees just go through the motions only to get a paycheck, and it brought to mind how easy it is for our staff as well as ourselves as business owners to forget why we do what we do.
With the employees, it is the daily task of operating a business, where they get swept up into the job of working in the business without actually giving thought to why we do what we do. If you do not believe it is about being independent, financially secure and a host of other attractive benefits, think again.
The next time you have an employee who is not performing in a manner you are happy with or a customer who is not happy; remind yourself, why we do what we do then think why do I do what I do.
I believe you know the answer to why we do what we do, build an asset of value that you can capture now and in the future.
